What I Ate: July 18, 2010

It was Sunday and I was visiting my hometown, which means being in church all day and running around between services. I kept the food as simple as possible, and it paid off.
  • Chocolate shake: 1/2 scoop Nectar chocolate truffle protein powder (50 kcals, 11.5g protein, 1g carbs, 0g fat), 1/2 cup fat-free cottage cheese (80 kcals, 15g protein, 5g carbs, 0g fat), 2/3 tbsp. Hershey's Special Dark unsweetened cocoa (10 kcals, 1g net carbs), DaVinci SF vanilla and Irish cream syrups. Total - (140 kcals, 26.5g protein, 7g carbs, 0g fat).
  • 1 single-serving bag pistachios (120 kcals, 5g protein, 4g net carbs, 9g fat)
  • 1 tbsp. 2% milk and 1 tbsp. half and half in a Books-A-Million decaf coffee (29 kcals, 0.6g protein, 1.5g net carbs, 2g fat)
  • Chocolate shake: 1/2 scoop Nectar chocolate truffle protein powder (50 kcals, 11.5g protein, 1g carbs, 0g fat), 1/2 cup fat-free cottage cheese (80 kcals, 15g protein, 5g carbs, 0g fat), 2/3 tbsp.   • 1 oz. roasted mini almonds (180 kcals, 7g protein, 2g net carbs, 16g fat)
  • 2 Ellie Krieger Crisp Crab Cakes (112 kcals, 13.8g protein, 11g net carbs, 0.4g fat.) and a salad of parsley and zucchini (20 kcals, 1.4g protein, 2.3g net carbs, 0.3g fat). Total - (132 kcals, 15.2g protein, 13.3g net carbs, 0.7g fat). These crab cakes are AMAZING! I saw the recipe in this month's Food Network Magazine and had to try them. The recipe says it makes 8, but I cut the recipe in half and got 8 out of that, so I consider the recipe to make 16.

  • Post-midnight snack of mini almonds and cocoa-roasted almonds - about 1.5 oz. total? (about 248 kcals, 9.8g protein, 3.8g net carbs, 21.8g fat).
